About Fool.co.uk
The aim of The Motley Fool is to tell people the truth about finance, helping them take control of their money and make better financial decisions. For many of us, the financial world is a maze in which the best path is unclear and, however hard we try, it only seems to get more confusing. Deciding which ISA to invest in (and what is an ISA anyway), sorting out a mortgage, figuring out pensions, picking the right bank account or a good company to invest in are some of the many things which we can help you with.
The Motley Fool was founded in the USA in 1994 by Tom and David Gardner. The name was inspired by Shakespeare's "As You Like It". This homegrown, UK version first hit the Internet in 1997 and they now serve millions of page views every month to hundreds of thousands of individual visitors. You'll find Motley Fool content at many key sites on the web, such as Yahoo. They make many TV and radio appearances and write regular columns in a number of publications. They have published several books in the UK, including the best-selling Motley Fool UK Investment Guide.

About TradeBasics.com
Dozens of web sites will tell you what the FTSE 100 is standing at, but if you don't understand what an index is or how it's composed, what's the point in knowing?
There are over 5,000 finance related sites in the UK but the majority of online investors still have nowhere to go to find either a context for what they are doing, or the educational tools required to exploit the trading and investment opportunities now available to them.
At tradebasics.com they put financial information into context. They provide investors with the know-how they need to make the most of other financial sites. They give the retail investor and trader, regardless of experience or wealth, the skills required to make informed investment decisions
Through their financial derivatives content tradebasics.com will also introduce more experienced investors to the intricacies of a product range almost wholly neglected by existing online services.
Content is provided by their team of experienced market practitioners, specialist finance writers and academics. It is dynamic, clear, and concise.
Tradebasics.com was set up in December 1999.
